When more than one person is photographed clothing can make or break an image. The face should be the most important element in a portrait.
Choose simple styles. Clothing does not have to match but remember to stay in similar color tones. Warm or cool colors work great. Avoid overly bright colors and large patterns which can be distracting. Ladies Wear ¾ length to long sleeves if possible; bare arms draw attention away from the face. Be aware of your shoes. They will be seen in full length portraits. Casual clothing compliments outdoor environments. Jeans, khaki shorts, Tee shirts and bare feet or sandals are a popular trend in today’s candid, lifestyle portraits. Avoid clothes that wrinkle easily.
